Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes thick scaly patches on the skin. The patches can appear on any part of the body but the most common places are the arms, back, elbows, knees and the scalp. To provide relief from the itching, simply cut off the tip of one of the Aloe Vera leaves and the gel will squeeze out. Apply the gel onto the affected areas and psoriasis relief can almost be instant.
Cayenne pepper can also help with psoriasis relief. This is due to the property, Capsaicin, which is found in these peppers. Because of the potency of this pepper, it should never be applied directly onto the skin as that could cause a minor burn or irritate the psoriasis even further. Instead, cayenne pepper should be added to the diet. There is no limit as to how much cayenne pepper should be used but it is a very hot spice so individuals should only eat as much as they can tolerate comfortably. An easy way to use cayenne pepper for psoriasis relief is through capsule form which is sold in most drug stores or health food stores.
There are also many topical creams such as cortisone-based creams available at pharmacies that will help people find psoriasis relief. These can often be bought over-the-counter but in more severe cases, medicated topical creams may need to be prescribed by a doctor.
